"The shortage of IT experts has long since affected not only the IT industry, but the entire economy as well as administration, authorities and science", explained Bitkom President Achim Berg in the Handelsblatt vom 28.11.2019. Every vacant position costs sales, burdens the ability to innovate and slows down the digital transformation.
"The lack of IT experts threatens the competitiveness of our entire economy," warned the manager. - This is not a new finding, after all, the number of unfilled IT positions has risen continuously in recent years to 124,000 (as of the end of 2019).
Welcome to Ukrainian Silicon Valley
The first innovation park in Kiev "UNIT.City" creates a place for the current and future business generation. In addition to resident companies, the largest innovation centre in Central and Eastern Europe also offers external companies the opportunity to rent business premises and workplaces, book events or set up a start-up. This is where new paths open up for investors, partners and new technologies from all over the world.
On the site there is, among others, the UNIT Factory IT School, which promises to educate its students on an international level. For the young talents and the Ukrainian Blackbits, the place offers state-of-the-art learning and working
environments, restaurants within walking distance, an own sports studio, apartments, labs and event rooms: UNIT.City is a space to work, learn and live. In cooperation with UNIT.City there are already partners like Microsoft, Amazon Web Service, Visa, HubSpot and many more.
We think bigger
In UNIT.City we see a great opportunity for us and have set up workplaces in new and modern offices in the Ukrainian Innovation Park for our four first Ukrainian employees, who have already been working for a few days.
And things are steadily improving: We would like to attract more qualified employees and expand the team in Kiev by the end of 2020. "We want to grow, think bigger and at the same time maintain our corporate culture. We would like to share what we have built up over thirty years and are looking forward to the latest technologies and the will of our new employees to secure an excellent place for themselves and Ukraine in the new digitalized world. We are expanding this project with a branch office at an up-and-coming international location and with competent employees. Step by step: well thought-out, efficient and successful", says managing director Stefano Viani.
